UNESCO yesterday declared the Sydney Opera House a World Heritage site and a masterpiece of 20th century architecture. It takes its place alongside the likes of the Taj Mahal, the Statue of Liberty, the Great Wall of China and Egypt's pyramids as cultural sites of outstanding universal value. The building is the youngest on the list and only the second by a living architect.

A very impressive black and white shot, getting totally away from the usual type of view of this great building we have here at home. Very good that you've been able to maintain enough detail in the roof in this high contrast shot. Well done!

@Andrew Gould: Andrew, it's certainly difficult to keep the detail as there are very bright lights shining on the roof which blow it out. I made two exposures from a single RAW file and blended the roof section to keep the detail there as much as possible.
I love the B&W treatment. You've done an excellent job here to capture this striking image in B&W when most do it in color.

Just brilliant, Paul! Very nice toning, and I love the use of black & white! It would do very nicely on my wall! Your latest shots are in BW. Are you in a BW mood these days, Paul? ;-)
